Isle of Man Art Society
A refreshed identity and website direction for an art society founded in 1953, balancing seventy years of heritage with a confident, modern future.

Founded in 1953 with just 28 members, the Isle of Man Art Society now has more than 300. The brief was to give it an identity that honours that history while feeling current, and to propose a website that puts members’ work and creative activity front and centre.

The exploration started with symbols every Manx artist knows: the triskelion, the palette and the tools of the trade. The ink-splatter triskelion nods to the island and to paint on paper, while the hand-drawn frame mark carries through to the website concepts as a framing device.
Website concepts
Three directions were presented, each with its own palette and type pairing. All three share a simpler navigation (History, Membership, Exhibitions, Diary, About) to improve clarity and accessibility across digital touchpoints.
